Thank you so much to the Junkyard Symphony for coming to our school today to teach us about more ways to recycle and to show us an amazing performance! It was an awesome afternoon and everyone had a wonderful time!

Just a reminder about our annual gift basket fundraiser. Our class theme is Gardening. As stated in the latest St. Stephen News and Update email: "Please forward items for gift baskets no later than April 25 to your child's class. Baskets will be on display in the school from April 28 to May 9th, at which time tickets will be sold and the draws will be made."
As well, if anyone has happened to find an extra pair of black splash pants, please send them back to school since one of our students lost a pair last week.
Earth Week Colours:
Tomorrow is wear white day (to represent air)
Thursday is wear brown day (to represent earth/dirt)
Friday is wear red, yellow, and/or orange day (to represent energy)

Updates, Photos, and Reminders
- A note was sent home today regarding our basket raffle fundraiser and the need for items for our class basket. Our class's theme is "Gardening" which is perfect since we have been working on our class garden for the past few months.
- As Earth Day is almost upon us and we continue to talk about stewardship of God's creations, we are looking for donations of plastic bottles of different shapes and sizes, old electronics that can be easily taken apart (home phones, keyboards, old motorized mini-trucks/cars,etc.), plastic/wooden serving spoons, clear Rubbermaid bins, plastic tubing, and funnels.
- Reading Program: Please ensure that your child is reading the book that I send home each week and completing one of the activities. It is also very important that you complete the reading log so that I know if your child was able to read the book independently or with help. Since I am not able to read one-on-one with each child every week, this is a great way for me to keep track of how they are doing.
- Please make sure to keep checking the "Educational Games and Apps" tab. I will be adding more to this section over the next few weeks including some Apps and tools that may be helpful if you have older children too!
- Over the last few weeks we have been trying to earn stickers towards our class reward. We decided as a class that if we could earn 10 stickers, then we would get to go to the computer lab! We got our first 10 stickers last week so we got to go to the computer lab today. Thank you again to Mrs. Lyon's Grade 3 class for coming to teach us how to log in and find games!
- We have been working on creating shapes and structures using Plasticine and toothpicks. Check out our pictures below!

Litterless Lunches
Just a reminder that we are now taking part in litterless lunches. If your child brings something to school that cannot be recycled or put in the compost, the garbage will be sent home. As well, on random days, there will be litterless lunch draws. If your child has a litterless lunch that day, their name will be put into the draw for a prize.

Thank you to everyone who made a donation to CHEO by purchasing raffle tickets for the Sens tickets draws! We don't have a total yet but Mr. Santos did say we raised a lot of money for this great cause!
Mlle T and I have received several notes lately asking if there is a way to access our class dojos at home. We have decided not to send home the parent links since it is just something we are working on in class. However, if you do wish to use dojos at home, you can create an account as a teacher. Simply go to http://www.classdojo.com/ and click on "Sign up" in the top right corner and then "Teacher". You will be prompted to give your name, email address, and create a password and then you will be able to add "students". If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to let either myself for Mlle T know!
Have a wonderful weekend everyone!
