I apologize for not sending home all of the mail bags or reading program duotangs today! We had a very busy afternoon and one friend got sick just as we were getting ready to go outside/pack up so I was not able to finish handing everything out. I promised the class that they will be sent home tomorrow.

Head Lice
Today a note was sent home letting you know that there has been a reported case of head lice in our class. Please read this note very carefully. In an effort to prevent the spread, we ask for your cooperation in the following...
- Keeping your child's long hair tied up
- Checking your child's head regularly
- Reminding children not to share hats
- Please let the school know as soon as possible if you suspect your child may have nits(eggs) and/or lice

Valentine's Day Update
Over the past few days, Mlle T and I have received several questions about Valentine's Day. On Friday, a note was sent home that was actually intended for the other four kindergarten classes (I was away and the teacher that was in for me did not realize this). Mlle T and I had previously decided to do a red/pink and white day on Friday since students wore their pajamas on Tuesday. Since the note did go home with our class, we have decided to leave it up to parents if your child wears pajamas to school again or red/pink and white.
Also a reminder that interview request forms are due back tomorrow if you wish to schedule an interview.

Today was our first day of Hip Hop instruction with Angel, our Hip Hop instructor! We did not start to learn any moves today since today was an instructional only class. Today we learned that Angel has 3 rules we must follow during our classes. Rule 1: Smile and have fun! Rule 2: Focus (it is important to stay focused so we know what is going on, to take full advantage of our 30 minute lessons each day, and to be safe). Rule 3: Energy (if we give all our energy we will learn a lot and have fun).
We all look forward to seeing what moves we learn tomorrow! Remember to check back for more updates and a few pictures.
*Also, reminder that report cards and interview request forms went home today. Please return the following 3 things as soon as possible: (1) report card envelope, (2) page 3 of the report card, and (3) the interview request form.

Due to the excitement and all of our busy 100th Day activities, I just realized that I forgot to send home the Report Cards today. I am very sorry and will make sure that they are sent home tomorrow with more information about interviews.
Thank you for your understanding!
*Don't forget to check back soon for pictures from today and from our upcoming Hip Hop lessons!

100th Day of School
As I am sure you may be aware, the 100th day of school is fast approaching. As an SK class, we have been counting to the 100th day of school by placing a happy face each day in a ten frame. We have explored the the concept that ten groups of ten make 100 and we have also practiced counting to 100 by tens. As a class, we will be celebrating the 100th Day of School on Tuesday, February 11. As a fun way to celebrate this day, students are asked to wear their pajamas and bring their favourite stuffy to school.
We know that the children would love to have their parents attend, however, due to the size of our room, this is not feasible. We appreciate your understanding in this matter.
On Tuesday we will be doing several activities exploring the number 100. These will include arts & crafts, math and language activities as well as several games.
Don't forget to check back for pictures from this exciting celebration! (And to continue to check Mlle T's blog as well.)

SK Gardeners
Our first sign of radishes which we just planted on January 29! We were all amazed at how quickly they have started to grow!
(The radish is the little green spot almost in the centre of the picture.)
