*Scholastic Orders are due Thursday, April 3. (Also a reminder that each time you make a purchase from Scholastic our class gets free stuff!)
*Now that the weather is getting warmer and it is very wet outside, please ensure that your child has a change of clothes at school and an extra pair of mittens (either in their backpack or in their bin in the cubby). You may also want to send your child with snow pants for the morning (before school and first recess) but splash pants for the afternoon. This way, if their snow pants are wet all the way through, they will have a backup and they will not be so hot once the temperature goes up in the afternoon.

Updates
- Reminder that I will not be sending home the Reading Program (duotang and new book) this week but I do encourage you to still be reading and to try out the new website (Raz-Kids) that was sent home with your child last week. *Please see the instructions below if you are not sure how to access it.
- Yesterday, we created a class Voki together (as seen on the left). We will change the message weekly (maybe more often if we have a lot to say) so please listen back soon! The students LOVED creating our character so I am sure it will also be changing regularly.
- I just added a new Gadget to our class blog (located on the left under the class Voki) that allows you to enter your email address so that you will receive an email each time I update the blog. This is a great way to stay connected so that you do not need to worry about having to remember to check the blog each day.
- Raffle tickets for pairs of Sens tickets will be on sale until April 16 Tickets are $1 each. The first two draws will take place tomorrow with more draws to come after March Break.
- Reminder that if you know that your child will be away either leading up to or after March Break, please send in a note so that we can have it on file at the office so that you do not receive unnecessary phone calls.
- There are several new tabs at the top of our blog.
- The March calendar is what we are using to track what the weather will be like during the month of March. Yesterday we discussed how March may come in like a lion but go out like a lamb and vice versa. We are currently working on making predictions based on the first few days of the month.
- The Math tab is where you will find pictures of some of the Math relating things we have been working on lately.
- The Language tab is where you will find examples of student work as well as concepts we have been practicing.
How to access Raz-Kids website:
Go to http://www.raz-kids.com/main/Login which looks like this.
Once you are on this page, type the teacher username which was sent home on the log in card last week and then choose your child's name and their password.
I have given each child access to their current reading level as well as 5 levels below and 1 level above so that they have plenty of books and activities to choose from.
Once your child gets to level A or higher, there are quizzes that they can complete to earn even more stars.
One thing that is great about this website is that it allows students to click on words or a question if they are unable to read it and it will read it to them.
